NDLEA Nabs A Drug Dealer At The Muritala Mohammed International Airport

Officials of the National Drug Law
Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), yesterday, arrested a 34- year- old drug suspect with 1.370 kilogrammes of whitish powdery substance at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The substance however after tests was confirmed positive to be cocaine.

The suspect, Mr. Nriagwu Augustine Ifeanyi, was apprehended while operatives where screening passengers about to board a Turkish Airline flight at the departure hall of the airport.

Speaking on the arrest, NDLEA Commander at the Lagos Airport, Mr. Hamza Umar, noted that the suspect had heed the drug and packed them in two parcels inside a laptop bag.

Umar noted that if the suspect had not been arrested at the airport, he would have proceeded to South Sudan upon arrival at Turkey.

Meanwhile, Chairman of NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade said that the agency would continue to engage in both drug supply and demand reduction activities towards making the country drug-free.
