The pressure is on as Workers in Ekiti State, on Monday, urged the the new governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose , to fulfil his electoral promises to them.
A cross section of the workers made the call in Oye and Ikole Ekiti in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
NAN reported that workers across the state were jubilant when INEC, declared Fayose winner of the June 21 governorship election.
Some of the workers who spoke to NAN, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the election.
They however pleaded not to be named, and urged the incoming governor to remember the plight of workers in the state.
They also urged him to conduct local government election within six months of his administration as he promised.
In a related development, some primary school teachers in Ikole have called on the governor-elect to prioritise the welfare of teachers in his administration.
One of the teachers, Mrs Bola Olagoke, said the issue of promotion and payment of the new teachers’ salary should be taken seriously by Fayose.
