Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the heads of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
The military chiefs have been meeting on Monday in the capital, Abuja, to discuss their operation against the Islamist Boko Haram militant group.
The sack did not come as a surprise as it was expected that the President will select his own security team, hence the relieve of the military chiefs who were appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Buhari had earlier in July sacked the Director General of the Department of State Service, Ita Ekpenyong, with the Director of Communications in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Haruna Imrana, announcing the appointment of Lawal Musa Daura as the Acting DG of the DSS
The replacements for the sacked chiefs are yet to be announced by the presidency.
