Lionel Messi could make a sensational move from Barcelona to Arsenal if the English Premier League can guarantee him a staggering £600,000 a week.
The four-time Ballon d’Or winner has in the past toyed with the idea of a move to Arsenal and new reports have revealed that he would consider if they can match his huge request.
The request may however make it hard for clubs like Arsenal or even other EPL side like Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea to pay that kind of money.
The 28-year-old is currently on of the best paid footballers in the world with an earning of over £14m a year net. Messi has been in Barcelona since 2001 and has a buy-out clause in excess of £175m.
The Argentine is currently injured but is fighting to regain fitness ahead of next weekend’s El Classico. The Argentina’s team doctor, Homero de Agostino doctor has however warned against that for fear of aggravating the injury.
“The risk of aggravating the injury if Messi plays the El Clasico is high,” he told Cadena SER. Messi also missed out of the Argentina squad for 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Colombia.
