The recently sacked permanent secretary in the scrapped Ministry of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, Mrs. Nkechi Ejele was on Thursday picked up by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
It was learnt that the ex-perm sec was picked up by the EFCC to answer questions relating to her role in the alleged missing N500 million Subsidy Reinvestment Programmme (SURE-P) funds appropriated to the ministry in 2013 and 2014.
According to multiple news sources, Mrs. Ejele arrived at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja about 10am, on Thursday.
As at the time of publishing this report, it was unclear if the suspect would be granted administrative bail or be detained ahead of her formal arraignment in court.
