One of the world’s most recognized footballers, Lionel Messi, has made a comeback after taking time off to treat a knee injury.
Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, officially returned to full training on Monday, five days before they face Real Madrid in the first Classico of the season.
The Argentina captain tore a ligament in his left knee on September 26 and has not featured for the Catalan club ever since. But the club has confirmed that Messi joined in a training session with other players.
“The session included Leo Messi, who is continuing his recovery from the left knee injury he picked up on Sept. 26,” Barca said.
Ivan Rakitic, who picked up a calf problem in the Champions League tie against BATE on November 4, was also back in training. Barcelona currently lead Madrid by three points, ahead of their trip to the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend.
