The Osun LP, which made the call on Sunday after a stakeholder’s meeting in Oshogbo, the state capital, urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission to beam their searchlight on the state following Aregbesola administration’s inability to pay workers’ salaries as at when due and for owing civil servants several months of salaries.
The Chairman of LP in the state, Mr. Tunde Olatunji, and the former governorship candidate of the party, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, in a statement yesterday, said the All Progressives Congress government in the state had put Osun in a “messy situation”.
The statement read, “Our dear state is in a messy situation today and the people are messed up too through the visionless administration of Aregbesola. Many things have gone awry which now make it compelling more than ever before for the EFCC and ICPC to look seriously into the activities of the Aregbesola administration.
“We can’t continue like this. The situation is hopeless. Salaries are not being paid and everything appears to be at a standstill.
“Aregbesola has ruined our state and bruised the psyche of our people. Earnestly, our people are yearning for a desired change. This, we must all work towards. Enough of this deceit which has foisted untold hardship on our people”.
