The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has began the trial of former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Orubebe.
Orubebe is being charged on a 4-count charge of false assets declaration and acceptance of about N70 million bribe.
Justice Danladi Umar, Chairman of the Tribunal, on Monday, ordered Orubebe to enter the accused box immediately he entered the courtroom.
Peter Danladi of the Code of Conduct Bureau filed the four-count charge on behalf of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) on October 8, 2015.
At the resumption of the trial, it became apparent that the prosecution lawyer, Musa Ibrahim Usman, could not produce his witnesses.
Umar chastised the Usman for wasting the court’s time and urged him to make sure his witnesses are present on the next court-day.
