The All Progressives Congress, APC, Ondo State chapter, has urged citizens of the state to ask less for themselves, but give more to each other, saying collective will is needed to end the suffering foisted on the citizenry by the present Peoples Democratic Party-led administration in the Sunshine State.
The Ondo APC chairman, Mr. Isaacs Kekemeke, who made the call in a radio and televised broadcast in Akure, the state capital, yesterday, said the current economic climate of the state gives cause for gloom, despair, disaffection, dissatisfaction and disenchantment.
Kekemeke said “the present economic reality in our State, which has undoubtedly dimmed the sunshine, is a direct consequence of the obvious lack of focus on the part of the present PDP administration in the State.
“Therefore, to the people of Ondo State, whose economic woes have been doubly compounded by the present administration on a number of indices of poor living standard, heavy tax burden particularly on market women and petty traders, collapsing social infrastructure and others, we enjoin you to partner with us in the direction of our vision of a better and prosperous State”.
The Ondo APC chair, who was former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), also encouraged civil servants in the state to find solace in the collective dream and aspiration of a new Ondo State in 2016.
The governorship election in Ondo is slated for 2016.
He also urged APC supporters, whose dream is to effect change in the polity of the sunshine state, to put behind them inconsequential issues that divide them and project only their common goal of effective change in the State come 2016.
“As the day necessarily follows the night, this long and dreadful nightmare the people of Ondo State are living under Dr. Olusegun Mimiko’s administration will give way to a shining dawn when the government of the APC comes onboard in 2016”, Mr. Kekemeke said.
