Bayelsa Polls: IG Arase Warns Police Personnel Against Professional Misconduct

Solomon-Arase-ElectionAhead of this Saturday’s governorship election in Bayelsa State, the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase, has advised the officers and men of the state police command to conduct themselves professionally and avoid any acts of misconduct that could jeopardize their careers in the Force.

IGP Arase gave the warning while addressing officers and men of the state police command at the headquarters in Yenagoa, on Tuesday.

“I expect the highest standard from you. Don’t let anybody buy your conscience. Hold your own, I want you to be very professional”, the IGP charged them.

Mr. Arase also hinted that over 14, 000 policemen would be deployed in Bayelsa for the election with three commissioners of police and Deputy Inspector General of Police also deployed to strengthen the men on ground.

Earlier, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Nasiru Oki, informed Mr. Arase of the challenges facing the command and appealed to him to intervene.
