dr_oby_ezekwesili-ngtrends.jpgFormer Minister of Education and coordinator of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) campaign, Dr. (Mrs) Oby Ezekwesili, on Friday, revealed that her decision to demand for accountability from the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, led to her being tagged an ‘enemy of the state’.

Mrs. Ezekwesili further stated that her leading role in the BBOG campaign, which ensured that the mass abduction of schoolgirls from their hostels in Chibok, Borno State was not swept under the carpet by the Jonathan administration, led to her losing six international corporate board appointments.

Ezekwesili, who retired as a World Bank Vice President (Africa) in 2013, was ostracized by the immediate past administration and called names by its officials because she led the Bring Back Our Girls campaign and daily sit-outs in Abuja, which the then government perceived to be a tool sponsored by the opposition.

Opening up on some of the “evil” she said the former administration plotted against her for standing with other Nigerians to demand that the abducted Chibok schoolgirls are rescued alive, Mrs. Ezekwesili recalled a public event where a CEO of an unnamed bank refused to take a photograph with her for fear of incurring the wrath of the Jonathan administration.

She made these revelations via her Twitter handle.
