Ben Murray-Bruce-Minimum WageThe senator representing Bayelsa East senatorial district, Ben Murray-Bruce, has knocked the All Progressives Congress for attributing the biting fuel scarcity in the country to the “sins of the last administration”.

The senator on Monday said rather than blame the Goodluck Jonathan administration, which handed over power nine months ago, the President Muhammadu Buhari administration should start taking responsibility for the myriads of problems bedeviling the country.

It would be recalled that Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had blamed the lingering fuel scarcity in the country to the accumulated subsidy claims, which the APC inherited from the last administration.

“One of the reasons for the fuel scarcity was the inability of the last government to make adequate provision for fuel subsidy.

“We do face some other logistic problems but majorly, we are paying for the sins of the last administration.

“What I will be telling Nigerians is that what we met on ground is such that we are paying for the sins of the last administration. I am being very serious”, the Minister was quoted as telling State House correspondents.

Reacting to the statement, Senator Murray-Bruce reminded the Minister that the major reason Nigerians voted the APC into power was because they wanted to hold them (APC) responsible for running Nigeria not Jonathan.
