Abdulfatah AhmedGovernor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State has okayed the release of N3.2 billion for the completion of capital projects in the state.

With the release of the funds, projects in education, energy, health, roads, works and justice sectors would be given accelerated attention as paucity of funds would no longer be an excuse.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Muyideen Akorede, Governor Ahmed said that the funds were released after the recent verification of the state’s outstanding capital projects.

He also said the approval was based on authenticated and duly certified stages of completion of work on each project.

Mr. Ahmed further stated that the release of funds would ensure timely completion of work on the various sites.

According to the statement, N3.2 billion was part of the N10 billion facility recently approved by the State House of Assembly for existing and new infrastructural projects in the state.

A breakdown of how the money would be spent shows that the road sector received the lion share of over N2 billion followed by water projects, N600 million. Education, energy, health and justice were over N320 million, N38 million, N160 million and N18 million in that order.
