Music star Daddy Showkey has urged the U-23 Eagles to improve on their defending and avoid conceding goals that may ruin their chances of picking a ticket to the football tournament of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Showkey told Completesportsnigeria.com that the Samson Siasia team caused him all sorts of trepidation in their two previous Group B games at the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations in Senegal and hopes to see a better game on Saturday against Algeria.
“The Nigerian team almost gave me heart attack in their two matches so far against Mali and Egypt. I watched those matches and I’m really disappointed by the way the boys defended,” Showkey told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“Their defending is caused by anxiety. It is a ‘Nigerian syndrome’ but we cannot afford to miss out on the Olympics so I want Samson Siasia to work on his team’s defending. How can you be leading by two or three goals and then collapse like that, it is just too bad.”
