President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a communication to the National Assembly concerning the controversial 2016 budget, his Special Assistant on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang has said.
The 2016 budget had last week elicited heated debates in the polity over its purported disappearance from the National Assembly but the Senate later came out to accuse Enang of circulating copies of the budget different from the copy tabled by President Buhari before a joint session of the National Assembly on December 22, 2015.
Speaking on phone to Channels Television yesterday, Enang, a former senator, said the content of the letter would be read at the resumption of plenary on Tuesday by the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
Although Mr. Enang did not disclose the content of the letter, it is believed to be connected to the 2016 budget.
