The spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, was finally arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, before a Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday.
Metuh was arraigned on a seven count charge after spending over 10 days in EFCC custody for allegedly receiving questionable payment of N400 million from former National Security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki.
When the charges were read in court today, the PDP spokesman pleaded not guilty.
However, an oral application for bail by his counsel, Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN), was rejected by the presiding judge, Justice Abang Obong.
Justice Obong ordered that the application be properly filed so that the EFCC can respond before it would be entertained in court.
The judge, therefore, ordered that Metuh be transferred from EFCC custody to the Kuje prisons pending hearing of his bail on Tuesday, January 19.
