#Dasukigate: I Was Only Refunded N260m Of Money I Spent On Jonathan’s Campaign – Anenih
Chief Tony Anenih, the former chairman of the board of trustee of the Peoples Democratic Party has opened up on the ongoing scandal bordering on funds meant for arms procurement. Chief Anenih said the controversial money, N260 million, he collected from the indicted former NSA Sambo Dasuki was a refund of what he lent for campaign programme of the former president, Goodluck Jonathan.
In a letter Anenih wrote to the anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, the money was a part-refund of N400 million he spent during Jonathan’s re-electioneering campaign of 2015.
The source at the EFCC said Chief Anenih claimed that he was not aware of who paid him the refund but only submitted his account details to former President, though he was not in the position to know how the money would be sourced or who will sponsor the refund.
