Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has become the longest-serving manager in European football after Portadown’s Ronnie McFall resigned .

McFall was in charge of the Irish Premiership side for 29 years, but resigned on Saturday evening following a quarter-final defeat to Lurgan Celtic in the Irish Cup.

During his time with Portadown, McFall won four league titles and over 20 trophies after taking over in December 1986.

He became the longest-serving European club boss in 2013, when Sir Alex Ferguson retired as Manchester United manager.

Wenger, who was appointed by Arsenal in 199, is on course to mark 20 years in his post on September 22.
