In preparation for this year’s Children’s Day celebration, Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Thursday received Little Miss Nigeria Universe, Sewuese, representative from the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, and school children from Abuja area.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of receiving representatives from the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, school children from the Abuja area, and Little Miss Nigeria Universe, Sewuese.
At the lively interactive session on ways that the 8th Senate can contribute to the development of Nigerian children, the students spoke about the need for the 8th Senate to push for the implementation and domestication of the Child Rights Act across the 36 States of the Federation.
In this regard, over the coming months, the Senate will be hosting public hearings and interactive sessions with representatives from the 36 States to ensure that the Child Rights Act is not only implemented across the Federation, but put into practice by our law enforcement agencies and the judiciary.
