Dr. Reginald Ohiri, the kidnapped lecturer of the University of Port Harcourt, regained his freedom on Tuesday night from the hands of his abductors.
The gunmen, who whisked Ohiri away at gunpoint Monday night, later demanded N2m ransom for his release.
But he was miraculously released after they later found out that he was not their target.
Dr. Ohiri, who is a lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry at UNPORT, was abducted on the eve of Monday August 1st., from his resident, in Aluu community, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Confirming the release on Wednesday August 3rd, the Management of University of Port Harcourt said the lecturer had returned home.
The spokesman of UNIPORT, Dr. William Wodi, speaking, stated that the lecturer, who was released Tuesday night, reported to school on Wednesday.
