Moses Hopes Goal Revives His Chelsea Career

Victor Moses hopes his goal in Tuesday’s EFL Cup victory over Bristol Rovers will provide the platform to revive his Chelsea career.

Sky Sports reports that  Moses was a hit during his maiden season at Stamford Bridge but has since been marginalised; spending loan spells at Liverpool, Stoke and West Ham.

The 25-year-old, a £9m signing from Wigan in 2012, struck the second in a tense 3-2 victory over League One opponents Rovers to score his first goal for Chelsea since 2013 and remains confident he can still make an impact at the club.

“I was excited to get on the score sheet, it was important for me as well as for the team,” He  said.

“I’ve always believed in the ability and the talent I’ve got and I’d like the fans to know there’s still a lot to come from me.”

After three seasons of being sent out on loan, Moses believes he has an ally in new head coach Antonio Conte and is grateful for a rare start against Rovers.

“We’ve got a great manager here who gives the lads a chance to express themselves,” Moses added.

“I’m pleased to be playing this season and I just want to keep working hard. Every pre-season I feel I’ve done well and it’s just about being given a chance.

“That was the thing that was missing. I’ve got that with this manager now.”
