Wizkid And I Are Not In Competition; I Do Music For The Passion Not Money – Skales
Lots of music lovers share the opinion that Wizkid has always out-shined Skales during their time with EME Records as label mates. Some have also compared both acts.
Speaking to Sunday Scoop, the Shake Body crooner clarified that he has never felt a competition between himself and former label mate Wizkid but had a hundred percent believe in his talent and work.
Basline front-liner, Skales also added that singing has always been his thing but he added rap to his style because that was the trend at the moment.
In his words; I have never been under pressure from Wizkid. I have always been a singer even though I became more popular as a rapper. When I was in Kaduna, I wrote songs but rap was the in-thing back then, so that’s what I concentrated on more. I believe that artistes have their individual styles and it’s not necessary to compare one artiste with another. I had a wonderful time with EME and they contributed so much to my career. But I’ve moved on and I’m grateful to God that I’m doing well in my career.
As usual, everyone has their ups and downs during their career, Skales has mentioned that he is not in the music business for money rather, he is into the music business to touch lives with his tune;
I have a very deep passion for what I do. Anyone who knows me would tell you that I’m very particular about my music and nothing is more important than that to me. I am not in it just for the money but to make an impact and also touch lives along the way.
Temper by Skales has enjoyed massive airplay nationwide as he also delivered a remix with Burna Boy.
